Chone Drakpa Shedrup Rinpoche: The Collected Works of A Buddhist Master is a project undertaken with the direction of ACIP's founder Geshe Michael Roach.

The works of Chone Drapka Shedrup Rinpoche as listed in The Mirig Pendzu Khang catalog, are an extremely rare set of works, we have come to believe exist nowhere in their entirety other than what this project has pieced together.

ACIP's initial efforts to scoure Tibet, Mongolia and India were in the end fruitless in turning up any complete set of the Chone Lama Drakpa Shedrup collected works. We were excited even to find one intact volume, which itself rarely happened. In the end we took on the incentive to reconstruct the complete works from what we were able to piece together.
We learned that there were only ever two editions of the works. The first was the edition initially carved and published in Chone Monastery, Tibet, of which the printing blocks were destroyed during a local religious conflict in the early 1900s. The second was an incomplete edition comprising of only the Sutra texts written By Master Drakpa Shedrup. This one was carved in Lhasa by monks of Sera Mey Monastery around 1952 and was soon after, in 1958, destroyed with the cultural revolution
We concluded therefore, to focus on recompiling the works using the Chone Edition. To do this we isolated and scanned the most complete versions of each of the 12 volumes as found wherever we could.
After that we detemined what was missing from each of those volumes, then located and scanned those missing texts, slotting them into their respective place. The result was a complete set of 12 e-volumes presented in the fashion that Mirig Pendzu Khang had presented theirs in their catalog.

The next step was to process each of the images to a state of ideal presentation for the texts. This was done with the hard work of a team of Diamond Mountain University volunteers. Once these images were processed they were printed and delivered to our typists in South India. The process of typing the complete set in the ACIP transliteration scheme, then took several months to complete.

What You find on this website, is the current progressional status of the project. Our typed texts that You can download are not in their complete form, but will, in the near future be proof-read and distributed as complete e-texts. We have provided the scans and the e-texts on this site, so if there are any scholars out there who are interested in helping with the proof-reading process of these texts, then please contact us at aciprelease@asianclassics.org to inform us of which text you would like to proof read.

Once we have found that all texts are in exact accords with what was written in the original prints, then ACIP will instigate the project of publishing the complete set as a collection of books and also as a DVD, both for public availability.
