Important Instructions for Browsing Files in Tibetan Script

  1. To view ACIP data in Tibetan script in your web browser, you will need to download and install the font Tibetan Machine Web, provided free of charge by the Tibetan & Himalayan Digital Library:
    • Download Windows fonts. After installation, you may need to restart your web browser or even your computer to see the fonts on your system.
    • Download Mac OS fonts. Double-clicking on the downloaded file to bring up the Font Book utility (or whatever utility you may have to manage fonts) -- just press the button that says “Install Font”. Be sure to install all ten Tibetan Machine Web fonts, since they work in concert as a single typeface. Note that you will probably need to restart your web browser to see the Tibetan fonts.
  2. The Tibetan web pages will only display correctly in Internet Explorer (Windows) or Safari (Mac OS)
  3. To read PDF files in this release, you will need Adobe Reader (or some other PDF reader).
