Welcome to the first release of Great Books of Yoga, a selection of classical yoga texts in the original Sanskrit script; in Romanised Sanskrit and in English.

We believe that it is crucial for yoga teachers and practitioners to retain their connection to the traditional yoga lineage preserved in these texts and we hope this CD helps to bring these classics to anyone who can benefit from their wisdom.

We are indebted to a number of great yoga masters of today - Dharma Mittra, David Life & Sharon Gannon, Rajashree Choudhury, and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa to name a few – who offered us suggestions as to important texts to include on the CD.

The CD also contains some bonus extras :
a selection of glorious thangka paintings from the collections of the Rubin Museum and the Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation, portraying great mahasiddhis of the past
the full text of Geshe Michael Roach and Lama Christie McNally’s translation and commentary on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra – the Essential Yoga Sutra.
the complete series of Asian Classics Institute courses in Tibetan Buddhism presented by Geshe Michael Roach.

We hope you enjoy this first release in our series. May it enrich your yoga teaching and help you bring countless people to their fullest potential.
